About Vaibhav Arekar
Vaibhav Arekar is one of the most leading male artists of India. An intense, calm and immersive approach is a key signature style of his performance. Vaibhav's choreography is inspired by modernity within the classical template. His keen choreographic interest is equally balanced with solo works as well as ensemble works such as - "TRAYYANTA", FOUR SEASONS", "SHRIMANT YOGI", "VENUGAN", "AND SHE SPOKE"- which investigate and interrogate various themes in Bharatanatyam. Initiated into the world of Bharatanatyam by Smt. Saroja Srinath Vaibhav completed his Masters in Fine Arts (Bharatanatyam) from the renowned Nalanda Nrityakala Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Here, rigorously trained under Smt. Thangamani Nagarajan, Vaibhav received advanced tutelage in Abhinaya under the guidance of his mentor, late Padmabhushan Dr. Smt. Kanak Rele.

Sankhya Dance Company, founded by Vaibhav Arekar- its artistic director is recognised for its intense yet engaging dance works.His training and experience in theater adds an exclusive layer to his entire artistic process. Sharing his constant confrontations with dance, Vaibhav is also engaged in mentoring young dancers.

Vaibhav as a soloist with Sankhya Dance Company has performed in a number of prestigious dance festivals in India and across the globe.

About Sushant Jadhav

Sushant Jadhav is a choreographer, dancer, lighting and costume designer, and the artistic co-director of Sankhya Dance Company, Mumbai. Trained in Creative Dance, Indian Folk, and Kathak, he brings a distinctive aesthetic to performance-making, combining visual finesse with cultural depth.

Since 2009, Sushant has led Sankhya’s artistic vision and co-curates its annual festival, SINDHU – Celebrating Dance. His acclaimed choreographies—such as Namo Gurjari Namostute and Usha-Aniruddha—have toured internationally, while his directorial collaborations include Shrimanta Yogi, Voice of Tagore, and Venugaan with Vaibhav Arekar.

A sought-after lighting designer, Sushant has designed for prestigious festivals like Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav, Madras Music Academy, and NMACC, working with renowned artists across classical forms. His costume designs for Sankhya are known for their conceptual sensitivity and elegance.
